There are no restrictions regarding who we serve. There are no referrals or documentation needed; no residence requirements and no appointments are necessary. We offer a place where mental health peers meet and socialize without fear of stigma. We encourage recovery through socialization, activities, peer-lead support groups and more. We have arts and crafts, TV, movies, exercise, computers, sandwiches and snacks, and a place for relaxation and music. All services are free.

On Our Own Of Fairfax County is a peer-operated, self-governed, drop-in center. Working together, we strive to provide a welcoming, safe and recovery-oriented center that is member-driven. Movies, pool, games, arts and crafts, support groups, classes, and a developing resource center meet the culturally-diverse needs of our community. Harmony with Recovery

Currently we provide Peer Support Groups, One-on-One Peer Support, Wellness Recovery Action Plan Classes and on going support groups for those who have completed mental health recovery classes. We currently do not have our own center and are working toward that goal. Recovery in Motion Peer Support & Advocacy Group (RIM)

RIM began about 10 years ago as 5 founding members engaged in self-taught WRAP education at one of their homes. RIM now provides mutual peer support at bi-monthly meetings, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training (4 classes each year), organizes and conducts public education events during May --Mental Health month. RIM members also present at CIT training at the local police academy.

Wellness Recovery Action Plan Groups
Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a plan you create for yourself to take control of your own wellness. It is a tool to help you manage your symptoms instead of your symptoms managing you. You can learn to create your own plan in a group led by your peers. At VOCAL we train people to lead these groups all across the state.
