Thank You, and A New Chapter for Vocal Virginia

The Board of Directors of Vocal Virginia shares that today, June 13, we bid farewell to Heather Orrock as she steps down from her role as Executive Director to pursue a new professional opportunity.

We are deeply grateful for Heather’s leadership, vision, and dedication to Vocal Virginia’s mission. During her time with the organization, Vocal Virginia has expanded its reach, deepened its advocacy and education efforts, and strengthened its role as a voice for people with lived experience in Virginia’s mental health system.

With Heather’s departure, we are beginning the search for our next Executive Director. We look forward to finding someone who will continue to champion the values of recovery and peer support while guiding the organization into its next chapter.

Martin Mash will serve as Interim Executive Director beginning June 16. Martin brings valuable experience, insight, and continuity to this role, and we are confident in his ability to lead the organization through this transition.

More information about the Executive Director search will be shared in the coming weeks. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Heather for her outstanding service and wish her the very best in her next chapter.
